PortAventura is the main reason families land at Barcelona and head south. The park and its hotels sit 100 km from the airport, past Tarragona, so the transfer is long enough that you notice the difference between a direct car and a connection.

Barcelona airport to PortAventura and Salou: distances
There are two destinations in practice, and they are close to each other:

The times are free-flow. In summer and on weekends the motorway south slows down, especially when check-out and check-in days for hotels coincide. Allow extra on the return to the airport.

PortAventura and Salou are not in my fixed table. I quote the transfer on request, VAT included. Send the date, the hotel and the group size in the form. The fixed airport price is only for the El Prat to Barcelona run, listed on the prices page.
Bus, train, taxi or private transfer
Searches for this route list buses, trains, shuttles and taxi fares. I do not publish timetables or fares for them because they change, and the operators’ own sites are the right source. The airport page at Aena lists official connections.
Why families choose a private driver for this route:
- One vehicle from arrivals to the hotel. No changes with pushchairs and cases.
- Your own schedule. The pick-up is set around your flight, not around a departure board.
- Space for the whole party. The V-Class takes up to 7, the Sprinter up to 16.
- Return planned in advance. On the last day the driver knows when your flight leaves.

For a couple, the E-Class is enough. For a family of five or six with suitcases and a pushchair, I would book the V-Class. School and sports groups are better served by the minibus or coach.
If you land at Reus
Some flights go to Reus, which is much closer to the resort area. A driver can meet you there as well. Read Reus airport transfer for that route. If you are already in the city, Barcelona to Salou and PortAventura covers the run from town.
Salou hotels and the park hotels
Salou town and the park’s own hotels are close to each other, but they are not the same stop. If you stay in a hotel inside the PortAventura resort, say so and give its name. If you stay in Salou, give the street. The driver then goes to the right entrance, which matters with children and luggage.

Days at the park and the return trip
PortAventura days are long. Families often prefer to book the return pick-up for a time they can keep, rather than a guess made at the gate. Give me the departure date and flight time, and I propose a pick-up time with a margin. Because the drive back to El Prat is about 1 h 20 min without traffic, an afternoon flight needs an early start from the hotel.
If you are staying several days and want a driver on one of them, hourly hire has a 6-hour minimum per day and extra hours are charged at the hourly rate.
