Mobile World Congress fills the hotels, the airport and the roads around the exhibition halls for a week. Delegates arrive in waves, meetings run to different schedules, and the evening events spread across the city. A chauffeur turns that into a plan: someone meets you, knows where the drop-off is, and is there when you finish.
MWC Barcelona chauffeur: what the event is
MWC Barcelona is the large annual gathering of the mobile and connectivity industry, with exhibitors, operators, executives and press. It is held at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, just outside the city centre. Dates, passes and the programme are on the official MWC Barcelona site. The venue is run by Fira Barcelona.
MWC Barcelona 2027 runs from 1 to 4 March 2027 at Fira Gran Via, organised by GSMA, as published on the official MWC Barcelona site. Business dress is the norm, and delegates tend to walk a lot between halls.

Congress week traffic is not free-flow. Plan a buffer in the morning and at the end of the day. Open the routes on Google Maps: city centre to the venue and airport to the venue.
Getting to MWC: the options
Visitors usually choose among metro, train, taxi, shuttles and a private driver. Public transport and shuttle details change each year, so check the MWC Barcelona site, TMB for metro and bus, and Renfe for trains. I do not publish timetables or fares, because they change.
What a private driver adds:
- A fixed pick-up. From the airport, the hotel or an evening event.
- A drop-off planned for the day. You do not hunt for a taxi at closing time.
- Luggage and demo kit in the vehicle, with you.
- A schedule that follows yours. Meetings overrun; the driver waits.

Hire by the hour has a 6-hour minimum per day, with no maximum. The S-Class is booked by the hour only. Several days, a different pick-up point or a programme with many stops are quoted on request. The prices page has the full table.
How a chauffeur for the day works at MWC
A typical congress day with an executive:
- The driver collects you at the hotel at the agreed time.
- You are dropped near the halls. I plan the drop-off and the return point with you.
- The driver stays nearby while you are inside. You call or message when you are ready.
- The car takes you to the next meeting, lunch or an evening event.

Airport arrivals during congress week
Arrivals peak in the days before the opening. Send your flight details in the form and the pick-up is planned around your landing time. The airport transfer page explains the service. For official airport information see Aena Barcelona-El Prat.
Teams and delegations

Evenings, dinners and side events
Much of the business at MWC happens after the halls close: dinners, receptions and company events across the city. These are not at the venue, and they end at different times. A driver at your disposal covers the whole day, with extra hours charged at the hourly rate. Tell me the evening venues in advance, and I plan the route and the timing so you are not queuing for a car.
Hotels near the venue and in the centre
Some delegates stay near Fira Gran Via, others in the centre or by the beach. From the centre it is 7 km, about 15 min without traffic, though congress week is slower. Booking for a team
For a team, tell me:
- the arrival and departure flights of each person
- the hotel or hotels
- the days the team is at the congress
- any evening events
I then propose the vehicles. A team of up to seven can share a V-Class. A larger group is better in a Sprinter, a minibus or a coach. If people arrive at different times, separate transfers may be cheaper than waiting for the last flight, and I tell you which is better when I quote.
Why plan ahead
Congress week is a peak. Hotels fill, flights fill, and so do the vehicles that can be booked. Sending your dates early lets me hold a vehicle for you. With the congress on 1 to 4 March 2027, the days before the opening are the busiest for arrivals. If your own dates change, tell me.
