Andorra is one of the few destinations where a long private transfer is a sensible default. It is almost 200 km, the roads are mountainous, and the alternatives mean fixed timetables. For a group or a family, a single driver and vehicle is often easier than splitting the trip.
This page is for guests starting in the city. Arriving by plane? See the Barcelona airport to Andorra page.
Barcelona to Andorra: price
Prices for a one-way transfer from Barcelona to Andorra, in euros, VAT included:
| Vehicle | Passengers | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | €395 |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | €395 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | €1,220 |
| Minibus | up to 33 | €1,485 |
| Coach | up to 60 | €1,485 |
The S-Class is booked by the hour only. These figures apply to the route in the table. Anything that differs, such as a resort deeper in Andorra, a return journey with waiting time or several days, is quoted on request.
Barcelona to Andorra: distance and time
Andorra la Vella is 192 km from Plaça de Catalunya, about 2 h 40 min without traffic. Real journey times vary with the day. Weekends in ski season, public holidays and winter conditions on the mountain section add time, and queues at the border can matter on busy days.
Open the route on Google Maps. Visitor information, border notes and resort details are on the official site Andorra tourism.
Private driver or public transport
Search results for this route include coach timetables, shared shuttles and forum threads. I do not publish public fares or times, since they change; the operators are the right source for those. What a private driver offers is simple:
- Pick-up at your address. No station to reach first.
- Your departure time. You decide when to leave and when to return.
- Luggage and equipment. Cases, skis and shopping go in the vehicle with you.
- One vehicle for the group. Everyone travels together, which is easier for families and mixed-age parties.
Is it a day trip?
Many visitors ask whether Andorra is worth a day trip from Barcelona. It depends on what you want to do. The return drive alone is more than five hours before you have stopped anywhere, so a day trip is a long day. For a shopping visit, or to see the capital and mountains, it can work if you leave early.
A same-day return with waiting time is not the one-way price above. I quote that on request. If you plan to stay overnight, a one-way transfer each direction is cleaner. If you want a driver with you on the trip, tell me in the form and I suggest the better format.
Pas de la Casa and the ski resorts
For the border resort and the other ski areas, the destination is different and so is the quote. See Barcelona to Pas de la Casa for that route. For a group, the Sprinter, minibus and coach are the vehicles to ask about. More detail is on Sprinter van with driver and minibus with driver.
Choosing the vehicle
For one to three people, the E-Class is comfortable on a long road. Four to seven travellers, or any group with ski bags, are better in the V-Class at the same price. For a larger group the Sprinter, minibus or coach avoids splitting into several cars.
What to know about the border
Andorra is not in the European Union, so there is a border crossing on the way in and out. Carry your passport or ID card, and check current entry and customs rules before you travel. Visitors who shop in Andorra should also check the rules on what they can bring back. The authoritative sources are the official Andorran and Spanish government sites, and Andorra tourism links to the practical visitor information.
The driver handles the road and the queue. You only need your documents ready.
When to leave and when to return
A one-way transfer lets you choose the time. For a day visit, an early departure from Barcelona gives you more hours in the country. For a winter trip, remember that darkness comes early and the mountain section is slower in bad weather, so I would not plan a late return unless you need one. If you want the driver to stay and bring you back, say so: that structure is quoted on request.
Staying overnight
Many guests choose a one-way transfer to Andorra and another one a few days later. That is straightforward to book in one request, with two dates. If the return starts at a resort rather than the capital, name it, because the pick-up point changes the quote.
Business and group travel
Corporate groups travelling to Andorra for a meeting or an incentive can use the Sprinter, minibus or coach. The prices above are for the route as listed, and larger groups should send the passenger count and the date. See business chauffeur Barcelona for how corporate bookings work, including who is invoiced.
Quote checklist
To price a trip outside the table quickly, I need the date, the pick-up address, the exact destination in Andorra, the passenger count and the luggage. If you plan a return, add the second date and the departure point. With those five items, the answer usually fits in one message.
How to book
- Open the quote form below or use the contact page.
- Enter the date, the pick-up address in Barcelona, the destination in Andorra and the number of passengers and bags.
- Say whether you want one way, a return, or a day trip with waiting time.
- I reply by e-mail or WhatsApp with the vehicle and price, VAT included.
- Confirm and the transfer is booked.
