Groups landing in Barcelona often have the same problem: too many people for taxis, too many bags for public transport and a timetable that does not suit everyone. A Mercedes Sprinter with a driver solves it. This page covers sprinter van rental Barcelona airport groups ask for: the prices I fix in advance, the vehicles for larger groups and how to book.
Sprinter van rental Barcelona airport: the price
Between Barcelona-El Prat Airport and Barcelona, the fixed prices from my table are:
| Vehicle | Passengers | To or from the airport |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | €200 |
| Minibus | up to 33 | €320 |
| Coach | up to 60 | €320 |
All prices are in euros and include VAT. The price is for the vehicle, not per person, so it does not change with the number of passengers inside the seat limit. For smaller groups, the E-Class and V-Class are €80 each on the same route. See the prices page for the full table.
Anywhere beyond the table, such as the coast, Girona or Tarragona, is quoted on request.
Distance and time from the airport
El Prat is 16 km from Plaça de Catalunya, about 25 min by road without traffic. You can see the route on Google Maps. Rush hour on the ring roads and the airport access adds time, so for a flight I plan a margin. For terminal and flight information, use the official Aena page.
When a Sprinter is the right vehicle
The Sprinter fits groups that are too large for the V-Class (up to 7) and too small to need a coach. In practice:
- Corporate groups and delegations. A team arriving for a meeting or a trade show goes from the terminal to the hotel in one vehicle.
- Families and friends. Two or three families travelling together with luggage.
- Wedding guests and event groups. A single arrival wave from the airport to the venue or hotel.
- Sports teams and school trips. Up to 16 people with kit bags, which is a common size for a squad.
If the group is 17 to 33 people, the minibus takes over. From 34 up to 60 passengers, the coach does. I explain these on the minibus and coach hire pages.
Airport minibus transfer in Barcelona
Searches for an airport minibus transfer or a 16-seater in Barcelona describe the same service. The Sprinter is the 16-seater. The minibus has 33 seats, so it suits a larger group. In both cases the vehicle comes with a driver, waits for you in the arrivals area and drives to the address you give me. I do not offer self-drive hire.
Rental vans versus a van with a driver
Rental platforms list vans by the day for self-drive. That works if someone in the group wants to drive in a city with narrow streets, tolls and parking charges. A Sprinter with a driver costs the same whether the day is quiet or busy, since the price is fixed in advance for the airport run, and nobody has to return the vehicle with a full tank. For a group that wants to arrive and leave without logistics, a driver is the simpler arrangement.
If your plan goes beyond the airport run, the Sprinter van with driver page covers hourly and day hire.
Luggage and timing
Tell me the number of passengers and the number of bags. The Sprinter carries a full group with luggage, but a group of 16 with large suitcases may be better in the minibus. I confirm before you travel, rather than on the kerb. I plan the pick-up from your flight number or landing time. If the flight is delayed, a message is enough.
