La Roca Village is a short drive from the city, which is why most people only think about the shopping, not the transport. The trip becomes a problem when you carry bags, travel with a group, or arrive from the airport with time to spare. I plan the day around that: pick-up where you are, a vehicle that fits your party, and a driver who waits.
This page covers the transfer from Barcelona. For wider ideas, see private tours with a chauffeur.
La Roca Village transfer from Barcelona: distance and time
La Roca Village is 37 km from Plaça de Catalunya, about 35 min without traffic. That is one of the shortest day trips I do. Saturdays, sale weeks and the run back into the city in the late afternoon can add time. You can open the route on Google Maps.
Shopping hours, brands and events are set by the outlet, so check La Roca Village before you choose a day.
Price for a shopping day
A La Roca Village trip is booked as a driver at your disposal. The vehicle waits at the outlet and brings you back to the city. The estimate is a round trip of 35 min each way plus 4 hours on site, rounded up to the half hour. That is under the 6-hour minimum, so it is 6 hours of hire. Prices are in euros and include VAT.
| Vehicle | Passengers | 6 hours of hire |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | €470 |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | €470 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | €610 |
| Minibus | up to 33 | €685 |
| Coach | up to 60 | €685 |
| Mercedes S-Class (hourly only) | up to 3 | €745 |
If you stay for more than 6 hours, extra hours are charged at the hourly rate: €80 for the E-Class or V-Class, €90 for the Sprinter, €110 for the minibus or coach and €125 for the S-Class. Everything is on the prices page.
Choosing the vehicle
- E-Class. Up to 3 passengers. Good for a couple or a small group that wants a quiet, comfortable run.
- V-Class. Up to 7 passengers, with more room for shopping bags. This is the one I would book for a family.
- Sprinter. Up to 16 passengers. Suits a group of friends or a company outing. See Sprinter van with driver.
- Minibus or coach. Up to 33 or 60 passengers, for larger parties. See minibus with driver.
Private driver or public transport
Searches for this trip bring up buses, taxis and forum threads about the cheapest route. I do not publish bus fares or timetables; the operators and the outlet are the right source. What I can say is what changes with a private driver:
- Pick-up at your hotel or address. No bus stop to reach first.
- Bags stay in the car. You can shop, drop bags, and carry on.
- Your return time. Nobody waits for a scheduled departure.
- One vehicle for the group. Easier for families and for groups of friends.
Combining La Roca Village with other plans
La Roca Village fits easily into a longer day. A morning there and an afternoon elsewhere is a plan I can build as hourly hire; see chauffeur by the hour. If you land at the airport and want to go straight to the outlet before the hotel, tell me the flight arrival and the luggage, and I quote it on request. The airport side is covered by the Barcelona airport transfer page, with official information at Barcelona airport.
What a typical shopping day looks like
Because La Roca Village is close, the day is flexible. This is the pattern I plan most often, and you can change any part of it:
- Late-morning pick-up. There is no need to leave at dawn. A pick-up around mid-morning gets you there as the day settles.
- Shopping time. The driver stays with the vehicle or nearby. You message or call when you are ready to move on.
- Lunch. You can eat at the outlet or on the way back, depending on how the day goes.
- Return. The driver takes you back to your hotel or address, or to another stop in the city.
The estimate above assumes 4 hours on site. If you want longer, the extra hours are charged at the hourly rate, and I tell you what that means for the final price before the day starts.
Where the driver stops, and what to carry
Tell me where you want to be dropped when you ask for the quote. Outlet shopping means bags, so a vehicle with a boot that suits the number of passengers is more useful than the biggest one available. A few practical points:
- Bags. Purchases stay in the vehicle, so you can carry on shopping without holding them.
- Pushchairs and strollers. Mention them in your request so I choose a vehicle with room.
- Mixed parties. If some of your group wants to shop and others want to see something else, say so. I can adjust the day or split the stops.
- Reduced mobility. Tell me when you ask for the quote and I choose the vehicle and drop-off point accordingly.
From the airport or the cruise port
La Roca Village suits travellers with spare hours between a cruise arrival and a departure, or between a flight and a hotel check-in. Those are different bookings from a hotel pick-up, because the timing depends on the ship or the plane. Send me the arrival details and the departure time, and I tell you if the plan is realistic. Port information is on the Port of Barcelona site, and I cover the transfer itself on the page for Barcelona airport to the cruise port.
Hotel check-in is a separate issue. If you land early, a shopping stop on the way into town can fill the gap; tell me where your luggage goes and I plan around it.
Business and group days out
La Roca Village is also a popular choice for corporate groups and congress delegations with a free afternoon. A Sprinter or minibus keeps the group together, and one quote covers the whole booking. See corporate event chauffeur for the way I handle those. State the group size, the departure point and the finish time, and I confirm the vehicle by e-mail or WhatsApp.
