Reus is the small airport on the Costa Dorada, near Salou, Cambrils and Tarragona. Airlines use it for holiday flights, and some passengers land there when they really want Barcelona or PortAventura. I run private transfers from Reus in both directions, and this page explains the distances, the options and how to ask for a price.
Reus airport to Barcelona: distance and time
From Reus Airport to central Barcelona (Plaça de Catalunya) the drive is 101 km, about 1 h 30 min without traffic. You can follow the route on Google Maps. The motorway is straightforward, but traffic builds near Barcelona at the morning and evening peaks, so for a flight I plan a margin.
Reus airport transfer: what is available
Searches for this airport mention taxis, buses, private transfers, Salou and Tarragona in about equal measure. The practical choices are:
- Private transfer, booked in advance. A driver waits in arrivals, loads the luggage and goes straight to the address. This is the option I offer.
- Taxi at the airport. Fine for a short ride if you are happy to take the next car.
- Bus. Several bus links exist. The Tarragona tourism page for Reus airport is the official place to check what runs and when.
I do not quote other operators’ fares or timetables, since they change. What I can say is that a booked transfer removes the wait and the change of vehicle, which matters most after a late flight or with children and bags.
Price: quoted on request
Reus is not in my fixed price table, so I quote it on request, with VAT included. The price depends on the date, the destination and the vehicle, and I do not publish a guess. The fixed prices I do publish, such as Barcelona airport to Barcelona, are listed on the prices page.
Reus airport to Salou, Cambrils and Tarragona
Not everyone landing at Reus is going to Barcelona. Many passengers have a hotel or apartment on the Costa Dorada, and the drive from the airport is short. The same car and driver take you to Salou, Cambrils, Tarragona or PortAventura. I quote each of these on request.
If you are visiting PortAventura, see Barcelona airport to PortAventura and Barcelona to Salou and PortAventura for the other direction. The theme park publishes its own tickets and opening dates at PortAventura World.
Choosing the vehicle
| Group | Vehicle |
|---|---|
| 1 to 3 passengers | Mercedes E-Class |
| Up to 7 passengers or lots of luggage | Mercedes V-Class |
| Up to 16 passengers | Mercedes Sprinter |
| Up to 33 passengers | Minibus |
| Up to 60 passengers | Coach |
A couple or a business traveller is comfortable in the E-Class. A family with suitcases suits the V-Class. For a wedding party, a sports team or a school group, a Sprinter van with driver or a minibus is simpler than several cars.
Planning the pick-up around your flight
Give me the flight number or the landing time and I plan the pick-up. If the flight is delayed, a message is enough and I adjust. For the return to Reus, I work backwards from the departure time, adding the drive and the margin you want. Your airline’s own guidance on arriving for check-in comes first.
Reus or Barcelona-El Prat?
If you have not booked yet, the choice of airport changes the transfer. Reus is close to the Costa Dorada and about 101 km from the centre of Barcelona. Barcelona-El Prat is much closer to the city. My Barcelona airport transfer page covers El Prat, and the Aena page has airport information. Either way, I can meet you at the airport you land at.
