The Mercedes V-Class is the car I suggest when the E-Class is too small: four to seven people, more luggage, or a family who wants to stay together in one vehicle. If you are searching for a Mercedes V-Class with a driver in Barcelona, here are the prices, the routes and how to book.
What the V-Class is good for
It is a people carrier with seven seats, which makes it the practical answer to a common question: how do I move a group that is too big for one car and too small for a minibus?
I recommend it for:
- Families arriving at the airport with several suitcases
- Business groups of four to seven going to the same meeting or event
- Friends on a day trip to Sitges, Montserrat or Girona
- Wedding parties and small groups travelling between venues
If you are only three people with standard luggage, the Mercedes E-Class chauffeur costs the same and is a slightly smaller car. If the group is larger than seven, the Sprinter takes up to 16; see Sprinter van rental with driver.
Mercedes V-Class price with a driver
Prices are in euros and include VAT. The driver is included in every figure.
| Service | V-Class |
|---|---|
| Barcelona-El Prat airport and Barcelona | €80 |
| Barcelona to Sitges | €135 |
| Barcelona to Montserrat | €135 |
| Barcelona to Girona | €210 |
| Driver at your disposal, 6 hours (daily minimum) | €470 |
| Driver at your disposal, 8 hours | €630 |
| Each additional hour | €80 |
Searches for the V-Class often include words like price, cost and rent. The honest answer is in this table. I do not offer self-drive, so there is no separate rental fee and no insurance supplement to add. Anything not listed, such as another destination, a date range or several days in a row, is quoted on request.
The full rate card for every vehicle is on the prices page.
V-Class airport transfer
The airport run is the most common V-Class booking. The price is €80 between El Prat and Barcelona and it does not change with traffic or the time of day. Send the flight details and the number of bags with your request.
For information on the airport itself, the operator’s site is Aena Barcelona-El Prat. My own page on the Barcelona airport transfer explains the route in detail.
V-Class for a day out
Hourly hire is the better option if you want to see several places in one day. The minimum is 6 hours (€470), there is no maximum, and extra hours are €80 each. Two examples:
- Penedès wine day. You decide when to stop, and the driver stays with the car. Read about the Penedès wine tour.
- Montserrat and back. The fixed transfer to Montserrat is €135, but a full visit with time on site is usually better as hourly hire. See the page on a private Montserrat tour.
MPV with a driver compared with other options
| Group size | My recommendation |
|---|---|
| 1 to 3 | Mercedes E-Class |
| 4 to 7 | Mercedes V-Class |
| 8 to 16 | Mercedes Sprinter |
| 17 to 33 | Minibus |
| 34 to 60 | Coach |
The seat numbers are the maximum for each vehicle. If your group is at the top of a range, ask for the next size up if there is luggage.
Luggage and seating: how I plan a full V-Class
Seven passengers is the maximum, but it is rarely the best way to use the car. Seven adults with a suitcase each will fill the boot well before the seats are full. When the group is large, I look at the luggage first and the head count second.
A few rules of thumb I use when planning:
- Four or five passengers with large suitcases: the V-Class is comfortable.
- Six or seven passengers with carry-on bags only: also fine.
- Six or seven passengers with large suitcases: ask for the Sprinter, or book two cars. Tell me the numbers and I advise honestly.
- Children and special equipment: mention them in the form, and I confirm what I can arrange before you book.
Common V-Class bookings
Family arrival. A family of five lands at El Prat with checked bags. One V-Class takes them to the hotel for €80, and the price is the same whatever the hour.
Business group. Four colleagues travel to a client site outside the city for the day. Hourly hire from €470 for 6 hours keeps the group together, and the driver waits during the meeting.
Day trip. Friends visit Sitges for lunch. The fixed price is €135 from Barcelona, and for a day with the car at your disposal the hourly rate applies. See the barcelona to Sitges chauffeur page.
Wedding guests. A small group is moved between a hotel and a venue. See wedding transport for how I plan the timing.
V-Class or two E-Classes?
For a group of five or six, some clients ask whether two E-Classes would be better than one V-Class. The prices make the answer clear: one V-Class for the airport is €80, while two E-Classes would be two transfers. The V-Class also keeps everyone in the same vehicle, which matters when the group is arriving together and does not know the city.
Two cars make sense in one case: a group larger than seven where nobody wants a minibus, or two parties with different drop-off addresses. In that case I quote each vehicle and each route separately, and you see the full plan before you confirm.
Before you travel
A few things help the day run smoothly:
- Send the flight number and terminal for an airport pick-up.
- Give the exact hotel or apartment address, with a phone number for the person who will be travelling.
- Say how many bags are checked and how many are carry-on.
- Tell me if the group includes anyone who needs extra time getting in and out of the car.
How to book the V-Class
- Open the quote form below.
- Enter the date, time, pick-up address and destination.
- Add the number of passengers and bags.
- I reply by e-mail or WhatsApp with the confirmed price.
